a troy oracle tradition

The Oracle’s annual literary magazine is a testament to student talent and individuality. An exquisite compilation of creative expression, the Lit Mag features student submissions including poetry, short fiction, art, photography, literature, film, music and more. With full, vivid color prints on tastefully designed and themed pages, the Lit Mag is the perfect way to showcase your creative talent to our campus audience and to have your work memorialized within an elegant magazine.

what does it look like?

Copies of last year’s production are available just outside of the Oracle room, and this year’s Lit Mag will also be published Friday, Feburary 4, as both a print magazine and digital gallery.

how does it work?

If you’re interested in submitting your work to the Lit Mag, details are listed below. Because we typically receive more works than we can print in our magazine, submissions will be selected by the Oracle editorial board and are not guaranteed to be included. However, we certainly encourage you to submit as many pieces as you’d like.

What can i submit?

The Lit Mag features works of:

  • poetry

  • short fiction

  • traditional and digital art

  • photography

  • graphics

  • short films

  • original music

If your art form doesn’t fall within any of those categories, please feel free to contact us. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are always open to new submission ideas.

For prose and poetry submissions, please note that your works may not be longer than 500 words. We are limited in space with our magazine, but if you have a special case where your work is no longer than 1000 words and cannot be abridged, please contact us and we will see if we can decide upon an alternative arrangement.

How do I submit?

Information regarding submissions will be made available in January.
